As a Senior Procurement Architect, you will be a key driving force in developing the strategy and architecting procurement solutions that digitize operations and interactions with our partners. The role will require you to actively collaborate with the Enterprise Architecture function, Delivery leads, Product Owners, Platform and Solution architects. You should be comfortable working with subject matter experts, provide thought leadership and experience with new business applications.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Understand business strategy and priorities to align the Technology strategy  
  • Identify, research and prototype new Procurement Technologies and innovations, in Partnership with Product Owners and other architecture team and recommend approach 
  • Design, architect and deliver scalable solutions to digitize procurement interactions with our suppliers across multiple technologies including both 3rd party and bespoke build to deliver outcomes
  • Define Principles and standards that directs the developments for Procurement to support the wider initiatives and digital strategies
  • Deliver conceptual, logical and physical architectures for Procurement products  
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and utilize the knowledge to deliver Proof of Concepts on emerging technologies e.g.  Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence that supports Procurement business outcomes
  • Perform validation checks during build & deployment phases to ensure alignment with approved architectural design
  • Maintain a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • To be successful, you need to ensure deliverables match needs of stakeholders

Who we are looking for:

You have:

  • Experience working as a Procurement Architect in agile delivery environments;
  • A minimum 10 years’ hands on experience in Procurement technologies encompassing both Direct and Indirect procurement;
  • At least 5 years of experience with large Procurement technology implementations as a cross- functional expert or Architect;
  • Proven ability to engage with business product owners to understand the business needs and priorities, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions leveraging appropriate tools and platforms; 
  • Proven ability to engage with business product owners to understand the business needs and priorities, lead requirement gathering and analysis, and design solutions leveraging appropriate tools and platforms;
  • Experience in implementing large and complex Procurement Projects, solution build, testing and               delivery to meet business requirements; 
  • Experience with one or more of the major procurement platforms together with SaaS based point solutions; 
  • Experience with middleware solutions and API technologies; 
  • Experience of working across end2end process scenarios outside of procurement e.g. into Finance;
  • Good problem solving, analytical & communication skills. Ability to work in demanding situations; 
  • Professional or Post Graduation degree in Computer Science or engineering, or a related field , or equivalent alternative education;   
  • Certification in TOGAF, API technologies are preferred; 
  • Collaborative mindset across business functions; 
  • Prior experience with emerging technologies including ML, AI, IoT and Blockchain is a plus;
  • Prior experience of working for shipping and logistics industry is advantage;
