Sales & Business Development Lead – Procurement Solutions Sales (USA)

Our client is a leading professional services and cloud solutions business that specializes in delivering customized, high value commercial insights on Supply Chain data. They help organizations accelerate their Procurement transformation with intelligence based on strategic research, advanced analytics and best of breed technology. 

This gives their clients a commercial edge by providing actionable insights that produce meaningful results to corporations and professional services firms worldwide.

They are looking for a motivated and driven person in the US to join the team and help accelerate their  growth and increase sales. They are in a unique position in an exciting and expanding market. Best of all is that they are driving and creating a new market for themselves as their solutions based approach disrupts current models which are typically technology or service based. Their solutions do both.

You’ll need to be focused and target driven and have a strong ‘hunter’ mindset or background but this isn’t a traditional cold calling sales role. Yes it is sales but it’s also being smart. You will need to be highly proactive and comfortable driving the agenda to succeed . They need people who can adapt their style and be humble. People who can engage with SVP or ‘C’ level executives typically in procurement and finance.

Key is that you like to work with stakeholders or clients to really understand their needs and problems. Creating a solution that a client will ‘buy’ starts when you really understand the problem, not ‘what you want to sell’…..

You?

Ideally you will have some sales experience or be a sales person in the SaaS or professional services sectors

You must have a good understanding of procurement and supply chain or be used to selling directly to senior procurement executives at CPO or VP level in major organizations. You will know their language and terminology already.

Alternatively you could be a procurement or supply chain person with some sales or account management/client management experience. You will be looking for a more focused and client facing target driven role. You will be comfortable with the challenge of moving into a sales role.

Experience of creating solutions or working with solutions teams (SaaS or consulting) would be an advantage

This is an individual contributor position for someone looking to advance their career and reports to the VP Sales in the US.

Where

Their US HQ is in Chicago but you can be based anywhere in the US as long as you are comfortable with occasional travel to the Head Office and to client sites.

You must have the right to work in the US.
