IT Procurement Category Lead / Category Manager

Our client is a niche Procurement Consultancy operating across many sectors including retail, hospitality manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, property, food & beverage, and the service sector. They have a first-class delivery record and are a growing business offering a working environment that is hard-working, supportive, and fun.

Due to the growth in their business particularly around the procurement of IT hardware software & services, they are looking to hire a dynamic IT Category Lead to focus on this as well as occasionally other indirects or GNFR.

You’ll currently be a mid-level IT category manager with broad procurement experience

You’ll be someone who wants to broaden your skills and broaden your knowledge across a wider range of business sectors and learn from driving change with senior stakeholders

Your brief will often be to create IT category management strategies that positively influence senior people across an organization to enable a step change in their procurement and supply chain performance

You’ll develop creative thinking to design solutions that deliver sustainable cost savings and improvements in wider business performance.

And you’ll deliver this at speed….

You?

At least five years of procurement experience either in a procurement consultancy or a major UK or international company

At least 1-2 years of sourcing IT Hardware, Software, or services and ideally some broader experience of indirects or GNFR.

Track record of learning new categories and delivering rapid, tangible results.

The ability to challenge traditional thinking; creating and delivering innovative strategic plans that result in a step change in business performance.

The management, motivation, and assembly of cross-functional project teams.

Managing and influencing senior clients and stakeholders

Strong track record of savings delivery.

Ideally, you will be Midlands based and comfortable with a mix of working from home or in the office, or at client sites.
