Customer Success Manager – Client Sales

Our client is a procurement services business who use their technology platform and in-house procurement experts to enable clients to source and buy complex services more quickly whilst controlling and reducing indirect tail spend significantly.

They do this by a unique combination of technology and expertise via their platform which has 1000 ’s of global suppliers pre-registered. This efficiently delivers real outcomes and significant cost savings for clients by mixing intelligent insights and the use of technology.

Clients can use the technology directly or utilise supported or managed services to deliver win-win outcomes. This is a business with some big customers and who are bringing a  unique service to market and as such are growing rapidly.

This is a hybrid role consisting of a mix of client solutions, sales, account management. Project & change management and implementation in a client-facing context. It is an amazing development opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step beyond their current role and be critical to the growth and success of a business.

As a business on a high growth curve, they are looking for someone who can be a focal point for their business development working closely with the CEO. He is looking for someone to support him directly on all of their sales projects. Ultimately the right person will get the opportunity to lead all sales activities.

Their sales process can be long and complex so it needs someone who can create a solution for the client and implement it managing the change process and keeping the projects on track until the full sale is achieved. This will include networking and establishing buy-in with the client’s key stakeholders and ensuring they sign up to the full ongoing service. You need to be organised and have the energy to drive the process through and keep on track across multiple prospects.

Explaining and selling the benefits of the service and the product and to keep the process moving to a conclusion is key. This is not a role cold calling prospects it is working smartly to engage and ultimately fully onboard prospects. 

You need to be open to new and different ways of doing things – they have a different approach and this flexes according to the client or lead.

The role involves extensive travel and as can be based anywhere in the UK but you must have easy access to London.

Ideally, you will have the following experience:

  • A good understanding of procurement and key processes and techniques is required and you should have dealt with procurement people at senior levels. For example if you don’t know what tail spend is or why it exists then this role is unlikely to be right.
  • The ability to plan, compile and execute a client solution project in a business development and sales context
  • Ideally client-facing or sales/ account management experience working in or directly with functions such as Finance, Procurement, Marketing and IT
  • Strong presentation skills confident communicator
  • A keen understanding of services or indirect spend.
  • Strong project management skills
